Harvest began

Harvest began on Wednesday, August 23rd with the Sémillons, closely followed by the Tibourens.

Some heatwave and drought struck the region this year, with up to 37°C some days!
The grapes ripened quickly, they were healthy and superb, but the result was a small crop...
Harvest ended on September 9, which was the earliest ever seen in the Pas du Cerf estate!
The weather was splendid and helped us to harvest our 80 hectares in one go for 17 days... At the end of August some light rain made the hot days cooler and provided the vines with a little water.
As the first tastings showed, the vintage is expected to be of excellent quality!
The Cinsault and Mourvèdre varieties stand out among the rosé wines, offering a wide palette of aromas. As for our white wines, notes of fresh fruit with good maturity and mouthfeel can be enjoyed. Last but not least, our Syrah variety is promising, with some fine intensity and depth. Some Marlise cuvée is to come, to the delight of this cuvée de garde (long-keeping wine) lovers!
Thank you to the teams who take part to epic period of harvesting !
